The Beatles remain one of the most influential bands in the history of music. Decades after their breakup, the legacy of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr continues to resonate globally. But what are the surviving members doing today?
Paul McCartney: Still Going Strong
Sir Paul McCartney, now in his 80s, shows no signs of slowing down. He recently concluded legs of his highly successful “Got Back” tour, performing to sold-out stadiums around the world. In addition to touring, Paul remains active in the studio and continues to champion various philanthropic causes, including animal rights and environmental awareness.
Ringo Starr: Peace, Love, and All-Starrs
Ringo Starr is also incredibly active. He regularly tours with his All-Starr Band, a rotating lineup of classic rock legends. Recently, Ringo has been releasing a series of EPs, collaborating with various artists and continuing to spread his trademark message of “Peace and Love.” His latest EP, “Crooked Boy,” features tracks written entirely by Linda Perry.
Honoring John and George
Though John Lennon and George Harrison are no longer with us, their presence is still deeply felt. Late last year, fans were treated to “Now and Then,” billed as the last Beatles song. Utilizing modern technology, Paul and Ringo were able to extract John’s vocals from an old demo cassette and combine it with guitar tracks George recorded in the 1990s, creating a beautiful final chapter for the band.
The Beatles may belong to history, but their story is still being written by the two men who lived it, ensuring the music will never die.
