John Lennon said in an interview published in paris today that he and the other Beatles smoked marijuana in a toilet in Buckingham Palace before being decorated by Queen Elizabeth
Lennon was asked by a n interviewer of the weekly French Magazine L’Express whether he took the decoration seriously, and if he was impressed
According to L’Express Lennon said he took the whole matter “as a joke”
Lennon said “At first, we wanted to laugh. But when this happens to you, when someone decorates you, you don’t laugh any more”
“We giggled just same, like fools, because we had just smoked a joint in the Buckingham toilets. We were so nervous”
