SEPTEMBER 8, 2012 – Paul McCartney received France’s highest public distinction for his contributions in music. In a private ceremony at the Élysée Palace in Paris with members of McCartney’s family attending, French president Francois Hollande presented the former Beatle with the award in appreciation for his contribution to music.
