September 19 1964 – Rino Starr Worrys About Grass Eating Girls

Ringo Starr of Liverpool said he was worried about the girls who tend to munch on the grass he has walked on.

“I just hope they don’t get indigestion” he said

Since there is more pavement than grass around Dallas Memorial Auditorium, the first teen-agers who turned out 10-000 strong to listen to Ringo and his three friends Friday night had more to worry about than laryngiris.

The Beatles , featuring Ringo as drummer, sang for 30 minutes. The 10,000 made so much noise it was virtually impossible to hear them.

Police 225 strong turned out to hold back the crowd. It was orderly, except, for the noise and several who fainted. One girl was carried out by police when she refused to stop leaning over the balcony to scream name of Paul Mc Cartney, one of quartet.

The Beatles got out of town immediately after the show. They went to Dallas Love Field and boarded a plane for Louis-ville Ky. en route to New York and windup of their current tour of the former colonies.

Just before the show the Beatles held their 34th and final, they said news conference.

Ask a silly question and reporters get a silly answer, including the comment about eating grass.
