Lennon & McCartney simply great.

At the end of The Beatles’ history, the band’s songs were practically every man for himself, although in general, they were recorded by the four members together.
However, there is one song from the group that was recorded only by John Lennon and Paul McCartney together. This song was the last great collaboration between the quartet’s two lead songwriters, despite subsequent acrimony.
On April 14, 1969, Ringo Starr was busy filming “The Magic Christian” and George Harrison was on vacation. However, Lennon and McCartney went into the studio and in one session, quickly recorded a song. Both played all the instruments heard in the song.
It is the song “The Ballad of John and Yoko”, which was not released on any Beatles album, but was released as a single.
The initial take was done with John Lennon on acoustic guitar, and Paul McCartney on drums. They then overdubbed McCartney’s bass on track one, Lennon’s electric guitar and Paul added piano. They also recorded backing vocals and the percussive maracas (made by hitting the back of an acoustic guitar) on track eight.
