The Beatles had secretly made the decision to stop touring three months earlier on a rainy night in Cincinnati, Ohio.
There had been talk amongst the band members about going off the road for some time, especially from George and John, but Paul thought it best to continue.
“I’d been trying to say, ‘Ah, touring is good and it keeps us on our toes. We need to tour and musicians need to play. Keep the music live, ‘”Paul said.
But on August 20, the band’s performance at Crosley Field in Cincinnati was canceled due to rain.
