Paul McCartney 3 – 20 March 1966 – Klosters, Switzerland

3/20 March 1966 – Klosters (Switzerland)
Paul McCartney and Jane Asher return to England after a two-week holiday in Switzerland.
The couple had rented a chalet in the mountains about half a mile from the town of Klosters. During their vacation McCartney worked on some ideas for the next Beatles album.
Paul describes the birth of For No One as follows:
“I remember more about Revolver when I wrote it than when I recorded it. I was in Switzerland on my first ski week. I had skied a bit in Help! and loved it, so I came back and ended up in a bath in a Swiss chalet writing For no one. I remember the ploy of the descending bass line it’s based on, and also the protagonist of the song, the girl who puts on her make-up.”
