I disagree the pictures are amazing. In fact, only one is interesting and another is good. No more than good. The others are bad pictures. I wish I could see really good pictures of this place because I’m sure it is very beautiful. One of the pictures is sad and…how come Paul allowed they do that with the lamb? I imagine at that time he was not still conscious about animals rights like today.

Try and make the lyrics found in the song given as the example (above) “Go melt back into the night, babe,” to be some sort of feminist empowerment, and you’ll find the entire premise of the article wanting in a serious way.

John was John. I didn’t like A Taste of Honey but some of the ones he thought were bad I thought were either pretty good or at least they had a nice melody and served their purpose on the album. I especially disagree with him about “It’s Only Love” which is very simple I agree but has a very nice melody and feel to it. In other interviews some of the songs that John loved I thought were just O.K. but to him it was all about the lyric, or the experimental element that was out there. I admired him for that but I also think that from the listener/fan’s standpoint he wasn’t always right. Sorry John to disagree some but I wish you were here today so we could argue about it. We all love you still and miss you.

I always enjoyed “Beatles for Sale” the album sold in America where they rock out on “other peoples’ (stuff)”. No pressure on them to write anything just belt out fine rock n roll standards. That album proved to me that no matter what they sang, wrote or played, the Beatles were a true rock n roll band. The songs they’d written on that record were of course great too but the sound of all of them unleashing on those standards always raises the hair on my neck and forces my foot down a little farther on the old accelerator…particularly “Mr. Moonlight” (Lennon), “Kansas City” (McCartney), “Everybody’s Trying to be my Baby” (Harrison), and “Honey Don’t” (Starr)…no matter what John says the campy, oddball tunes they managed to get away with once in awhile remain charming when you look at their entire work. Somehow they were able to sell “hello hello, I don’t know why you say goodbye, I say hello” and everybody thought they were geniuses…I guess they were.

What a great vacation on a beautiful property in Missouri! A few years ago, the Pigman ranch became the Eleven Point State Park. Now, legislators in Missouri are trying to sell off this beautiful property to private interests. We would love if Sir Paul would make a comment about protecting this park and the nature it encompasses! We love our public lands, and we need help protecting the environment and history in the area from being sold and closed to the public.

I think if the CIA wanted to kill Lennon, they would have had it done during the 1972-73 period, when Lennon was political and hanging out with Abbie Hoffman. No matter, it is a far fetched story anyway. He was killed by a guy who had severe mental issues. Let’s hope he never sees the light of day and stays in his cell until the day he dies.

I really liked george i agree with his way of spiritual thinking , ie the big question and the only one is what happens to us when we die, nothing else really matters if you think about it. He lived in a 140 mansion and had array of expesive cars roller, mercs and sports etc, this is the only thing what does not tally with me , nor does it really add up as he always said he was not materalistic and this was worldly and he was spiritual, so dont quite get his owning of the above. but i do like him an his music, but my pet hate in life is double standards, and hypocrocy im afraid.

In a thousand years time only 2 artists will b remembed beatles and presley elvis easily the greatest singer of all time any music genre he was the master the beatles took it to another level singer songwriters and so forth the beatles changed the world

Like the rest of us George was a work in progress . As time went by his views modified and they would likely have modified further had he lived but I think what he was grasping at was the fundamental essence of the spirit or soul, the very core of our being, whether we are humanoid , an animal or any other sentient form, and as I see it that essence is energy. In physics we learnt that energy cannot be destroyed, it can be modified yes , but it cannot be destroyed, and I believe that our own energy or soul if you like, passes out into the universe after death, in what type or form I have no idea , but for better or worse the universe becomes the ‘God Head’ if you like, one great pool of positive and negative energy. And I further believe that you can make contact in your mind with that energy source. But be careful , there may well be positive and negative energy out there and I imagine contact with either is possible if you desire it .

I was there on that Saturday. Me and three other teens broke into the back side of the ranch compound, got over the tall hedge fence and came out about 150 feet or so from the lareg olympic pool. It was in the late afternoon and we could see 4 or 5 men over inside the pool, which was surrounded by a chain link fence. A large man started shouting at us and tore open the fence of the pool and was coming at us. At that moment, one of the other men rushed down to the end of the pool, still inside, and shouted to the man (we assumed he was a guard) to stop, saying he would take care of the matter. Then the man motioned us to come over to where he was at the ned of the pool. He had on swimming trunks and a sheer long sleved white shirt, so characteristic of what the British band members wore in those days. It was John Lennon. He could see that we were four harmless guys who were just there to get a glimpse of them and I could tell he knew we meant no harm. We could see Ringo, Paul and another man, whom Lennon said was their manager, sitting in lawn chairs at the other end of the pool. They never came over or spoke to us, but would exchange looks occasionally.

Lennon spend over 30 minutes talking with us about a lot of things, including the music we liked and about thier favorites, and he also told us the story of how they happened to come to the ranch, which was unplanned. It was a magical time for us and something i will never ever forget. Lennon was a very engaging person and was interested in all sorts of things and people….I will always think there was something mystical or supernatural about this encounter, as several strange and unexplained things came to me in later years, in connection with this day.

heres my take on it. he said “I buried Paul”, but at the same time i don’t think Paul is dead. look at him now, being interviewed and bringing up old memories like its nothing. he’s not dead. i know that for sure. what i think, and just hang with me here, is that John put clues in the records to get more people to buy them. making the records run backwards often ruins the records, which means they need to buy new ones. multiple copies are bought per person, they get more money. one thing i know for sure is that he’s not dead.

In the photo of Paul & Linda with their girls, if the date of Mar. 1971 is correct, then Mary was only 19 months old and Heather was 8 & 3 months, That’s if it was the last day in March! Heather was born Dec. 31, 1962 and Mary was born Aug. 28, 1969.

I’m a little confused, did Paul leave to Texas after Santa Monica? The article says they never met face to face again, but him showing up at the Dakota many times would have happened after John came back with Yoko.

Not only had they retired from performing in 1966, but almost any minimal research would find who played at the concert. Is it possible that a Beatle happened to show up and enjoy the concert? I began playing drums with my brother David’s (lead guitar, vocals) band called silver wings ✈️ test flight in 1977 up to 1986. A little regional street fair’s band. I began on a little drum set my mum purchased for me in 1977 called a drum mate drums (4 piece, snare, mount tom, floor tom, Bass drum, with a kent cymble from a rod coming right out of that bass drum, and no Hi hat, so I whaled away on that snare with my 4/4 rock and country rock drum beat). By 1981 I had moved on to a 5 piece 1968 vintage LUDWIG, I believe they call ” the Hollywood outfit” this was bass drum 14×22. Mount toms 8×12 and 9×13. Floor tom 16×16, and snare 5×14, with the new Sabian and zildjan cymbles, and always 5A pro-mark drumsticks.
