Below is a photo of Paul with Welsh singer Mary Hopkin recording her UK number one hit “Those Were the Days” with the Aida Foster Children’s Choir in July 1968.

Mary was one of the first artists to be signed by the Beatles’ Apple Record label and Paul produced many of her records, including “Those Were the Days.” The model Twiggy saw her winning a British television talent show and recommended her to Paul.

“Those Were the Days” is an adaption of a Russian song, “By the Long Run”, composed in 1924 by Boris Fomin.

Mary is still recording and performing to this day.
