Who knew, when Fred Bolt, a teacher at Dovedale Primary School, photographed his pupils during a 1951 summer trip to the Isle of Man, that he was capturing four future celebrities: (from left to right) news anchor Peter Sissons, Beatle John, comedian Jimmy Tarbuck and Everton footballer. Brian Labone.
Also, between Jimmy and Brian were (left to right) Michael Hill, who would go on to write the memoir ‘John Lennon – The Boy Who Became a Legend’, and Ivan Vaughan, who would introduce John to Paul McCartney.

Lennon & McCartney simply great.
