October 14th, 2009 Paul McCartney was honored Songwriter of the Year award

Paul was honored with the esteemed title of “Songwriter of the Year” at the 29th annual ASCAP awards held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on October 14, 2009. The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) bestowed this prestigious recognition upon Paul in appreciation of his outstanding contributions to music. His exceptional songs “All You Need Is Love,” “Come Together,” and “Hello Goodbye” were specifically acknowledged for their remarkable popularity and widespread performance throughout 2008. The awards ceremony aimed to celebrate the most performed works of the year by esteemed writer and publisher members of the U.K’s Performing Rights Society (PRS).
