Paul McCartney on John Lennon

“I called John when I was making bread, I had started to get pretty good at it,” “so when I heard he was trying the same thing, it was great. We could talk about something totally nondescript. We were just two guys saying, ‘Well , I don’t know. Do you leave it overnight or what do you do?’ And the other guy would say, ‘Yeah, I’ll leave it overnight in a warm, closed place’ and it was just normal conversation.”
“I never could and now, for me, it’s amazing to realize how much I love and esteem this man “I just remember how great it was to work with him and how great he was. It was no joke, you weren’t singing and playing with the occasional Mario Rossi, you were doing it with John Lennon.”
