On 29 August 1966, The Beatles gave its last concert for 33-minutes in Candlestick Park, San Francisco.
They played 11 songs including Chuck Berry’s “Rock and Roll Music”, “She’s A Woman,” “If I Needed Someone,” “Day Tripper,” “Baby’s in Black,” “I Feel Fine,” “Yesterday,” “I Wanna Be Your Man,” “Nowhere Man,” “Paperback Writer,” and Little Richard’s “Long Tall Sally”. A little more than half of the stadium was full and there was 25.000 audience who paid $3,80-$7 to tickets.
There were protestors outside against John Lennon and the claims that he is bigger than Jesus. During the show, the fans try to get on the stage but the security gets them. Lennon brings a camera to the stage as he knew this was the last concert. He took photos between the songs and Paul records the sound.
This was marked as the end of “Beatlemania”. While The Beatles didn’t do any other tours, the most creative and inspiring period lied ahead.
