Across the Universe song by famous music band Beatles is the first song to be directly broadcasted to the space.
Written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney in 1968, this song was broadcast by NASA to the space for the 40th year celebration of the song.
The song was broadcast at midnight in the UK and all the Beatles fans around the world are called to sing the song together.
This celebration was suggested by Beatles fan, music procedure, author and historian Martin Lewis. Lewis thought to call for Beatles fans around the world for the 40th year celebration of the song. But Lewis later changed his mind and said, “the song is called across the universe” and why should we limit ourselves with the world. He said, “we are already sending messages with Mors’s code to the aliens and I thought we should send more entertaining message.” Lewis managed to convince NASA officials and NASA aimed for the Polaris in a faraway galaxy with this broadcast. Paul McCartney who wrote the song with John Lennon said, “say hello to aliens from me” in his congratulations message for NASA. Apple which is one of the two companies that hold the copywrite of Beatles songs said
they are happy with the idea and they want to “open to new markets”.
