In Hamburg, Germany around Reeperbahn which is famous for sex and entertainment center, there is a museum with Liverpool-based Beatles’ original possessions.

The entrance of the museum has a yellow plastic submarine (Yellow Submarine song released in 1968). Actually, Beatles took its first steps on Reeperbahn street known as the “road of sin” in Germany. The founder of “Star” nightclub that hosted the world-famous starts of that period Horst Fascher says that the famous Beatles sound was born on this road of sin and explains:

“When they started to play in Star, the finally found the thing they feel is missing. They got the chance to listen and watch other famous musicians similar to their style. Thus, their music took its final form in Star Club”.

Beatles’ original belongings

Beatlemania exhibition aims to make the visitors feel the colorful and entertaining life of the famous band. The museum has a section of the clubs that John, Paul, George and Ringo who replaced Sutcliffe performed. Additionally, it is possible to see the first record deal signed by Beatles in Hamburg and a postcard from drummer Ringo to his grandmother about the beauties in Hamburg. The logo of Beatles is even on female socks. The collector from Hamburg and the founding fathers of the museum Uwe Blaschke gathered numerous things with “historical” value. “Signatures and handwritings from Star Club time… There are all the marketed products of Beatles on another floor. We can see Beatles as a “product” or “good”. Then, I will create the average teenager room of that period later. This way we will show how did a Beatles fan lived.”
