06 January 1961 – The Beatles perform at St. John’s Hall, Bootle, Lancashire. The Beatles’ growing reputation is evidenced by the near-capacity crowd. The Beatles receive a fee of 6.5 pounds

06 January  1962 The Beatles perform at the Cavern Club – a night show

06 January  1963 – On the final appearance of their five-stop tour of Scotland (the first of which was cancelled due to inclement weather), The Beatles perform at Beach Ballroom, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire.

06 January  1967 – The Beatles in the recording studio (Studio Two, EMI Studios, London). More overdubs are recorded for “Penny Lane”. Paul adds a bass line, Ringo adds drums, John adds rhythm guitar and conga drums. John and George Martin also add piano parts. Handclaps are also dubbed in.

06 January  1967 : UK album release: The Family Way

06 January  1968 – The Beatles’ single “Hello Goodbye” is #1 in the US charts for the second straight week.

06 January 1969 – The Beatles struggle through a third day of filming (at Twickenham Film Studios) for the ” Get Back” project. Without any clear direction, and on an uncomfortable sound stage, nothing much gels and resentments flare up again and again.

06 January  2001 – The Beatles album “Magical Mystery Tour” hit #1 in the U.S.

06 January  2004 – The family of George Harrison filed a lawsuit that stated Harrison’s oncologist had forced him to autograph a guitar for his teenage son two weeks before he died of cancer.
